In June, The Art Therapy Alliance launched a Favicard Project as an effort to promote a collaborative and interactive experience among our community members, partners, and supporters. This project uses the power of social networking, social media, and community members’ creativity to showcase individuals and/or groups who want to share their Art Therapy Alliance Favicard and highlight their work, passion, or causes. The Art Therapy Alliance received our first Favicard photo from Rev. Patti Goldstein in Oakland, California with a little help from Gumby:
Patti is an artist and art therapist, with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology specializing in expressive arts, art therapy and child and adolescent therapy. Patti has also been ordained as an Interfaith Minister and has trained as a hospital Chaplain. She facilitates an art therapy group for adults with schizophrenia in an outpatient setting and works with elders that have dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. Patti’s own art at the moment is gravitating toward collage and assemblages. In the fall, she will be attending the California College of the Arts in Printmaking to pursue her BFA. Patti connects with the Art Therapy Alliance network through Facebook and Linkedin where she reads art therapy articles and connect with others that have the same interests. Thanks to Patti for sending in her Favicard and sharing this with our community!
If you are interested in receiving your own Art Therapy Alliance Favicard and participating this project, learn more here. There are other Favicards out there that have been sent and arrived to new homes, so I look forward to hopefully receiving more photos soon!
