Another Favicard was received this week by Erin Brazill, ATR-BC, LISW in Cincinnati, Ohio for The Art Therapy Alliance’s On the Go project. This collaborative initiative offers members from our community to get creative through taking a photo of their Art Therapy Alliance Favicard while introducing everyone to their work, studies, or support for art therapy.
As described by Erin, her Favicard photo illustrates how the Art Therapy Alliance is about building and creating connections with people from across the world about art therapy. Erin accesses the Art Therapy Alliance to stay connected with the art therapy community worldwide. The image behind the Favicard is from a tie weaving piece Erin created in memory of her father who worked with children. All the ties used in the weaving were his.
Erin is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) and a Registered and Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) who earned a MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University and a MS in Art Therapy from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She has been practicing as an art therapist for the past 13 years and is dedicated and passionate about working with children & families. Erin has worked in community mental health, inpatient, outpatient, educational & residential treatment settings doing both individual & group work. Her clinical specialities are working with grief/loss, children & families, and in trauma recovery. She also has a special interest in using art and the creative process to work with cancer patients. Erin’s current artwork has been focusing on creating an altered book through the help of online art journaling workshops of 21 SECRETS and she enjoys working in collage, painting, & mixed media.
