Art Therapy Alliance Favicard On the Go with Tia Pleiman in Tamil Nadu, India

Art Therapist Tia Pleiman snapped this pic of her Art Therapy Alliance Favicard received in Tamil Nadu, India on October 5, 2012. I’m glad it made it safely and so quickly!  Yay!

Here’s a little about Tia from her website Create and Transform:

Tia is an Art Therapist living in the International Township of Auroville, South India.  Her Art Therapy is cross cultural, focusing on self expression and creative exploration,  interpersonal communication, building community, human unity, individual and group empowerment. Working with individuals and groups to acquire new skills, and to provide a voice where one may not exist. The applications and adaptations of Art Therapy are infinite….beneficial for any population, culture, age or ability level.  I call my programs “Peace of Art” because I truly believe that making art and participating in the creative process creates Peace, both internally and externally.

Tia was also a project endorser and contributor to the Art Therapy Alliance’s Spaces and Places: Where We Create collaboration earlier this year.  Tia submitted a series of photos featuring the space she works in with youth and some of the materials they use for art-making.

You can follow updates and learn more about Tia’s art therapy work with youth in the Tamil Nadu community on her Create and Transform Facebook page.
